Known as the popping king of the show Dance Plus 4, 18-year-old Chetan Salunkhe is over the moon after being declared winner of the show. Apart from the winner’s trophy, Chetan took home prize money of Rs 25 lakh.
Chetan is flooded with congratulatory messages from all quarters. However, the win came after years of struggle, hard work and sacrifices.
Hailing from Pune, the 18-year old doesn’t have formal training in dance and has learnt the art by watching YouTube videos. In fact, he started dancing at a very young age to support his family.
Chetan dropped out of school and did odd jobs initially. While his mother is a house help, his father works as a daily labourer.
Chetan’s determination to win the show for his parents earned him the title of Shravan Kumar on Dance Plus 4. The young dancer was also nicknamed ‘popping badshah’ for his exemplary moves.
Chetan had made his debut in the Indian reality TV scene with a Marathi Dance based show called Dance Maharashtra Dance last year. He had become one fo the top five finalists there.
He is currently pursuing studies from Dr. D. Y. Patil Polytechnic, Akurdi, Pune college.
The grand finale of Dance Plus 4 witnessed some mind blowing performances by Nora Fatehi, Mouni Roy, Dharmesh Yelande, Shakti Mohan, Punit J Pathak. Adding more stars to the evening were Madhuri Dixit and Anil Kapoor, who shook a leg together and set the stage on fire. Singer Kumar Sanu graced the occasion and crooned some of his hit numbers.
